So far, my experience at COSMOS has been a positive one. The food here is good and the staff is generally friendly and helpful. Regardless of a few minor glitches at the beginning (ie. internet connection problem and breaking supplies), I feel extremely comfortable with the Dirty Dirty and my cluster. I don't know much about the psychology behind these ice-breaker games, (my RA is the one studying a psych major, not me), but they seem to be doing the trick. It seems the more awkward the activities, the more we are compelled to become more comfortable with each other.
I have some mixed feelings about the cluter instruction. On one hand, the lectures were not extremely motivating. Maybe its only with our cluster, but with all the technical terminology flying around its hard to keep up, and hence, the interest. However, the labs were extremely interactive and fun. I learned a lot of new material and tried plenty of exciting and unfamilar processes. The labs are challenging but getting past the numorous errors and problems is an edifying experience. Look forward for the days to come.
