Well, It's already been one "work" week at COSMOS! It's hard to believe it's Friday already, because I still remember checking in and seeing my dorm for the first time. But this week has been really memorable, and I will probably never forget it.
I'll recap some activities that we have been doing in the past few days. On Wednesday, we had a bonfire. Although it was not as big as everyone expected, it was still very fun. The most amusing part was the bus ride. It's amazing how many people can actually fit into one school bus.
On Thursday, C programming "clicked" in my head. I understood it, and had fun making lots of programs. We also got assigned an individual science fair project, and I think I know what I want to do. On another note, the food recently has been average. The vegetarian options are getting slightly repetetive. Otherwise, it still tastes great. But the highlight of the day was still COSMOlympics!
There's a lot to talk about COSMOlympics, so I'll start a new paragraph. Our cluster's shirts looked very cool. We had spray painted "1" on the front, and I drew an iPod on the back, to represent Embedded Systems. The ceremony started off with each cluster's cheer. Our was: "There are 1 0 kinds of people in the world, those who are in Cluster 1, and those who are not" (1 0 is 2 in binary). Everyone had great cheers, and I think cluster 6 did a good job making rhymes for everyone. The actual contests were the best part. Our cluster won the water balloon toss. Next, we had the knowledge bowl. My favorite part was the pie-eating contest without hands. The last contest was the relay. This is what I participated in. The events in the relay were wheel barrow, dizzy bat, 3 legged race, and egg on a spoon. At the end, cluster 4 got 1st place. Although we were disappointed, everyone still had a great time, and that's all that matters.
Well, after the COSMOlympics, I realized I "lost" my voice due to the yelling. But fortunately, the store had some cough drops and cough syrup, so I am doing much better today. After COSMOlympics, my suite made a Youtube video using a webcam. We wanted to give a virtual tour of our dorm rooms and new friends, to share with parents and school friends.
Friday was very fun too. In the morning, we had a guest speaker, Proffesor Rick. After that, we had lunch with the Director of COSMOS! It was actually very fun and informative, and I got to personally meet the heads of this great program. In the afternoon, we had lab time. I finished Lab 3 and also designed some more software. My latest program can calculate the prize you recieve according to the number of tickets you won, say at Chuck E. Cheese. It took some efforts, but was worth it. Next, we will be going to pool and get some In-N-Out. I am looking forward to Knotts tomorrow, and catching up on sleep.
Have A Great Weekend!
