Week Deux

This past weekend was a very enjoyable break from the rigors of COSMOS academics. Since I last posted, quite a bit has happened. Yesterday afternoon we all went down to the shores of La Jolla. I enjoyed the beach and the water was rather refreshing, but the transportation was rather inconvenient. As there was only one bus, we were forced to be shuttled in 3 groups, meaning I waited about 45 minutes in line for a ride to the beach and another 45 minutes back to UCSD after the beach excursion. After dinner, we had what was supposed to be a Jell-O fight. As it was scheduled to last an hour, I expected there to be enough Jell-O for an hour's worth of fun. Instead, the "Jello-O," which could be described more accurately as a thin cream, ran out after about 5 or 10 minutes. Regardless, it was fun throwing it around and getting dirty. The remainder of the night was low key. We had study time and some free time. Later that night our floor watched Family Guy on one of the RA's TVs.

Today was back to classes. This morning I ran with a few other people down to the Torrey Pines golf course, where the U.S. Open was held several weeks ago. My cluster had a few lectures this morning. This afternoon was lab time, but we were able to get a quick tour of an engineering lab, where some researchers were building a helicopter that could test the structural integrity of bridges. Stay posted!
